  8. Click “Sign Up” — you’ll then proceed to complete your provider profile.

Step 2

Verify your email address

After signing up, confirm your email address to continue.

  1. Open the inbox of the email address you registered with.
  2. Find the email from Fix It Task — subject “Email verification instructions for Fix It Task”.
  3. Open it and click the blue “Verify email” button.
  4. If the button doesn’t work, use the full link below it. The link is valid for 48 hours.
  5. If you didn’t receive the email:
    • Check your Spam or Junk folder.
    • Go back to the registration page and click “Resend email”.
  6. If you entered the wrong email, click “Fix it” to update it.

Step 3

Request posting rights (background check required)

Before you can publish a listing, you must complete a Criminal Background Check and be approved by the FixitTask team.

  1. Click your profile icon (top right) and select “Your listings”.
  2. On the “You haven’t listed any listings.” page, click “Post a new listing”.
  3. You’ll see the message “You don’t have posting rights”.
  4. Click the red “Criminal Background Check” button.
  5. You’ll be redirected to a page with instructions:
    • Go to TritonCanada.ca and complete your background check.
    • After completing it, send your verification to hr@fixittask.com.
  6. The FixitTask team reviews it — approval typically takes up to 24 hours.
  7. Once approved, your account is activated for posting and you can create and publish listings.

Step 4

Create your first listing

Once your account is approved and you have posting rights:

  1. Click your profile icon (top right) and select “Your listings”.
  2. If you have no listings yet, you’ll see “You haven’t listed any listings.”
  3. Click the red “Post a new listing” link underneath the message.
  4. You’ll be taken to the Listing details form.

Step 5

Fill out “Listing details”

  1. Category — pick the best fit from the dropdown:
    • Furniture Assembly & Installation
    • Wall & Ceiling Mounting
    • Moving & Heavy Lifting
    • Cleaning Services
    • Outdoor & Garden Services
    • Home Repairs & Maintenance
    • Painting & Finishing
    • Smart Home & Electronics Setup
    • Renovation & Construction
  2. Listing title — a short, clear title (e.g., “Professional House Cleaning”, “TV Mounting & Installation”, “2 Movers + Truck – Fast and Reliable”). It’s the first thing clients see.
  3. Listing description — explain what you offer: what’s included, tools/supplies you provide, your experience or certifications, areas you specialize in, and languages you speak (optional).

Example: “I offer professional post-renovation cleaning with all equipment provided. I have 3+ years of experience and specialize in deep cleaning for apartments, houses, and commercial spaces.”

  4. Cleaning options (only if you selected “Cleaning Services”) — check all that apply: general home/office cleaning; post-renovation and move-out; garage and storage; rental and Airbnb; specialized commercial cleaning.
  5. Pre-booking messaging — choose whether clients can message you before booking. “Yes” is good if you need to confirm job details first.
  6. Service area (km) — how far you’ll travel. Entering “25” means you accept jobs within a 25 km radius.
  7. Rest/prep time between bookings (hours) — e.g., enter 1 for a 1-hour break between jobs.
  8. Minimum notice before a booking (hours) — how far in advance a client must book. The countdown starts immediately, regardless of business hours.

Example: if a client tries to book at 2:00 AM for 9:00 AM the same day and your minimum is 12 hours, the system won’t allow it — only 7 hours remain.

  9. Minimum booking duration (hours) — e.g., enter 2 if you only accept jobs of at least 2 hours.
  10. Distance-based travel fee (per km) — e.g., enter 1 to charge $1 per kilometer, or 0 / leave blank if you don’t charge for distance.

When all fields are complete, click “Next” to continue to the Location section.

Step 6

Enter your location

Your location is used to show your listing to nearby clients and to calculate distance-based travel fees.

  1. Address — enter your full street address (e.g., 2920 Highway 7 Road). It won’t be shown publicly, but it’s required for distance calculations and internal use.
  2. Apt, Suite, Building # (optional) — e.g., Unit 304 or Suite A42.

Once the street address is filled in, the “Next” button becomes active. Click Next to move on to the Pricing section.
